Step 1: brand and class review
Start with the exact word, logo, tagline, applicant name, business activity, and goods or services. The correct class matters because official fees apply per mark and per class.
Step 2: application preparation
Prepare the mark representation, applicant details, address, user claim, description of goods or services, and documents such as authorization or MSME/startup proof where relevant.
Step 3: filing and tracking
After filing Form TM-A, the application is checked and examined. If an objection is issued, the reply should answer the examiner's concerns with legal reasoning, facts, and supporting documents.
Step 4: publication and registration
If accepted, the mark is published in the Trade Marks Journal. The opposition window should be monitored carefully before the mark moves toward registration.
