Two numbers, always shown separately

Number one

Government fee

A statutory amount set by law and paid directly to the Registry, Patent Office, Copyright Office or MCA. It varies by applicant type — individuals, startups and MSMEs pay materially less. We charge it at cost and give you the receipt.

Number two

Our professional fee

A fixed fee for the work: search, drafting, classification, filing, replies and representation. Quoted before we start and not revised afterwards. GST at 18% applies to this amount.

Worth checking: if you are an individual, proprietor or MSME, the trademark government fee drops from ₹9,000 to ₹4,500 per class and the patent filing fee from ₹8,000 to ₹1,600. Udyam registration is free and takes a day — we do it for you at no charge if you do not already have it.

Pricing questions

What you pay, when you pay it, and what happens if things change.

Why are government fees shown separately?

Because they are not our money. Government fees are statutory amounts payable to the Trade Marks Registry, Patent Office, Copyright Office or MCA. We pass them through at cost and show the receipt. Firms that quote a single 'all-inclusive' figure are usually marking them up.

Am I eligible for the lower government fee?

For trademarks, individuals, sole proprietors, DPIIT-recognised startups and MSMEs with a Udyam certificate pay ₹4,500 per class instead of ₹9,000. For patents, the same categories pay ₹1,600 instead of ₹8,000. If you do not have Udyam registration we can obtain it for you free — it takes a day and often saves more than our entire fee.

Are there hidden charges later?

No. Our Professional trademark package includes the objection reply and one hearing, which is where most firms add charges. If something genuinely outside scope arises — an opposition, for example — we quote it before doing any work.

Do you offer refunds?

Our professional fee is refundable in full if we have not begun work on your matter. Once drafting or filing has started it is not, because the work has been done. Government fees are never refundable under any circumstances, including where an application is objected to or refused — that is a statutory rule, not our policy.

Can I pay in instalments?

For larger matters such as complete patent filings and opposition proceedings, yes — typically split across filing, examination and hearing stages. Ask when you request a quote.

Do you charge GST?

GST at 18% applies to professional fees as required by law. Government fees are not subject to GST. Both are itemised separately on your invoice.
